Innovative volumetric construction for faster, smarter, and more precise building
The RATEC Modular Housing System, built on advanced upcrete® technology, enables the efficient production of volumetric 3D concrete modules — complete room units consisting of a floor and four walls, manufactured in a single, seamless process.
Using upcrete’s pressure-based casting method, each module is produced with high dimensional accuracy, including preformed window and door openings, as well as integrated electrical and sanitary fittings, all completed in one pour. The result is a monolithic concrete module of exceptional quality and precision.
Efficient Monolithic Construction
The core principle behind the system is one-step production — each room module is cast as a complete structural unit containing all load-bearing components such as walls, floors, and beams, plus pre-installed mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) elements.
Only additional components such as roofs, internal partitions, stairs, or balconies are cast separately and assembled on site, greatly reducing construction time and labour.
Engineering Support from Concept to Completion
RATEC not only develops the customised moulds required for 3D module production but also provides comprehensive engineering support during the early planning and design stages. This ensures every modular housing project is feasible, efficient, and optimised for mass production — from concept to commissioning.
Through Nexsoft Australia Pty Ltd, the official Australian representative for RATEC GmbH, modular construction companies can now access RATEC’s world-leading 3D concrete technology and local engineering expertise.
